Our History

  • 1960

    The school was founded - Campo Grande campus.

  • 1967

    The parents of students of the school met in a General Meeting to establish the “Associação Escola Pan Americana” and founded the school.

  • 1971/1972

    Goes & Gantois, Alec Watson, Tex Hargon, Boll Born, Maury Lane, and Hermete Frignani, donated more than twelve thousand square meters of land for the construction of a new school building.

  • 1972

    Fundraising to get money to build a new school.

  • 1973

    Patamares building under construction.

  • 1973

    Last class to graduate in Campo Grande Campus.

  • 1974

    The school was officially transferred to a new campus, Patamares.

  • 1977

    New High School building rises.

  • 1978

    The first student to have spent an entire academic career in Pan American School was graduated.

  • 1980-1983

    Under the direction of Mr. David Marston, were built a new Chemistry and Physics laboratory, an Art Room and a Covered Area for Physical Education.

  • 1982

    Framework rising for P.E. court roof.

  • 1985/1986

    The school commemorated its Silver Jubilee (25th Anniversary) with a variety of activities including a reenactment of the opening of the school, an all-school birthday party and an end-of-the-year reception.

  • 1997

    School’s Pool inauguration.

  • 2010/2011

    PASB celebrated its 50th anniversary.

  • 2012

    PASB is accredited by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, becoming an IB World School.

  • 2014

    The Early Childhood Center (PASBinha) building is inaugurated.

  • 2017

    PASB initiates the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Authorization Process.

  • 2019

    PASB gets full Authorization for the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
